Nicolas Wietrich est né à Strasbourg, qu’il a quitté à 19 ans pour apprendre le métier d’ébéniste, d’abord au CRÉAR de Gouvieux (Picardie) puis à l’école Boulle de Paris. A La Sorbonne, il a étudié la littérature et démarré ses premiers reportages à Vitry-sur-Seine, une ville ouvrière qui l’a beaucoup inspiré. Au début, en argentique noir et blanc. En 2012, il se forme au photo-journalisme à l’EMI-CFD à Paris. Peu à peu, il travaille pour la presse, des institutions et des entreprises. En 2015, il part documenter les fêtes religieuses en Iran ainsi que le mouvement Urbex (exploration urbaine) en Europe. En 2018, il décide de s’installer à Blois après un coup de cœur pour cette ville et la région. Depuis, il photographie régulièrement pour la presse ou la Ville de Blois. Il aime aussi illustrer les restaurations de monuments… comme en ce moment avec l’église Saint Nicolas à Blois.

Nicolas Wietrich was born in Strasbourg which he left at 19 to learn the trade of cabinetmaker, first at CRÉAR in Gouvieux (Picardy) and then at the Boulle school in Paris. At La Sorbonne, he studied literature and started his first reports in Vitry-sur-Seine, a working-class town which inspired him a lot. At the beginning, in black and white film. In 2012, he trained in photojournalism at EMI-CFD in Paris. Gradually, he works for the press, institutions and corporates. In 2015, he left to document religious festivals in Iran as well as the Urbex (urban exploration) movement in Europe. In 2018, he decided to settle in Blois after a big crush on this city and the region. Since then, he regularly photographs for the press or the City of Blois. He also likes to illustrate the restoration of monuments… as at the moment with the Saint Nicolas church in Blois.
